The Guardian Angel Thrift
A Non Profit supporting Alzheimer’s
Research was born from an idea of how to raise money for
research in order to help find a cure for this disease.
Laura Gaddis saw her mother suffer with
Alzheimer’s for 12 years. Nearing the end of her
mother’s life, she woke one morning with a plan she
quickly put on paper. It would be a non profit thrift
store with the sales funding Alzheimer’s research. She
opened a small 1,400 sq. ft. store in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
With the help of her daughter Shari, her
sister Martha and husband Dave, this little store grew
into a large 26,000 sq. ft. Super Thrift in 4 years! Now
we have also expanded to Charlotte with additional
26,000 sq. ft. store. Thanks to our public support,
since our beginning we have been able to contribute
$750,000.00 for Alzheimer’s Research to The Eastern
North Carolina Chapter Alzheimer’s Association. All of
our profits after operational expenses go to Alzheimer
Research.

The Guardian Angel Thrift and this website are dedicated
to our mother,
Lina Mae Ferrell Edwards, who struggled with this disease for twelve
years
and
to our father, William Levi, who was her sole caregiver. |
